Inclusive Child Care

The Indiana partnership for Inclusive Child Care (IPICC) was created to improve access, quality and availability of inclusive environments for families of children with and without special needs. 4C employs an Inclusion Specialist who can answer questions about rights and responsibilities of both providers and families. Providers and/or families may request a classroom or individual observations and on-site consultation services.

Training is an important part of IPICC and is available for providers, administrators, families and therapists. Go to the Training webpage on this site to see a list of scheduled training or call 4C to request customized training.

Another key component of programming offered to families of children with special needs is enhanced child care referral services. An interview is conducted by phone, fax or email so that our referral specialist can understand the individual needs of the family seeking care. The Referral Specialist will then call providers who match the family’s criteria to verify openings. Once potential child care providers have been identified, the Referral Specialist will mail a list of referrals to the family, along with an interview check list and child-specific literature. Families are also eligible to receive age-specific child development information quarterly.
